Tribute to the Farm House

The 13 month lease on the Carmi farm house officially ends on October 31. I spent Saturday/Sunday packing all the treasures up and stuffing them in my Honda. As Sherri, AJ and I drove away I was afraid I would cry but I held back. Tonight, I felt it fitting to pay tribute to all the fun we've had there. My first picture is Corn Day morning sunrise 2007. I captured this shot from the front porch of the farm while I drank coffee and waited for everyone else to wake up. I love this picture!!!
My second photo is also from Corn Day 2007. It's right before we left for the pet parade and it's a fun snap of Dad, me, Ken and Mike. It was our first weekend to stay at the farm and while Ken might call me a liar, I don't think we saw any ghosts...ok maybe Ken heard one.
Last shot is of my 40th birthday party at the Farm...it's of me, JW and Shelby...wow Shelby must me taking some form of insta grow as look how short his hair and beard are just 9 months ago! DANG.

In addition to these great times we also had yummy dinners, lots of cold beverages and many fun farm events while there. Jeff almost got to see chicken killing at the Whitler's, we've had deer sausage, homemade goat's milk ice cream, listened to the donkey bray at night (which drowned out the ghost sounds) rang the farm bell, and listened to the wind whistle through the crops....lots of cigars, bud light limes and good times with friends/family. I know you all thought we were crazy to rent a house for such limited use but I am so glad we did it...the memories are priceless :)
