Last weekend, Jeff and I made a big people quick trip to Carmi. It was the Carmi Open and we knew there would be some fun happenings. After a day of fun and sun, we headed to David Hall's for a feast and some cold beverages. Soon after we arrived, we had the customary "who is driving home tonight" conversation to which I teared up and replied "Glenard always said he'd come and get us".....
Jeff just couldn't control himself and busted up laughing. "Are you kidding ME," he giggled. He wouldn't have had to come and get us, he would have been here!!!! I started laughing too thinking of all the times he was right in the middle of all the fun. Whether it be a family event, a work trip or a friend party, HE WAS THERE!!!
As an example, the 3 photos attached are from vacation 2005. First shot----late night photo post dinner, drinking and dancing at 'the club' with Biff, Skip and Betty. Who do you think danced the most? Dad. Who do you think sang the loudest with the guitar dude? Dad. Who do you think danced with BETTY (who we did not know)? Dad.

thank you, Dad, for all the fun vacation memories you gave to all of us. Because of your generosity, we all grew closer together and the family time we shared is something we all cherish.

Your peace sign. and that goofy side of you that only you could pull off. We all channel it sometimes (some of us more than others) but you were the king of the goofiness. Thank you for sharing your fun spirit with my kids and for teaching me that a positive attitude and some hard work, can really get you everything you want out of life.

SERIOUSLY .....I could not resist adding this shot. I just don't ever want to forget how Dad just made everything fun regardless of what it was. Father's Day tomorrow is bitter sweet. I am thankful for 40+ years with my Dad and for everything he taught me and for his love. But I sure do miss the peace sign and the goofiness and everything about him that made him ...........HIM.
